Nick Rowan –
Nick joined Balfour Beatty in 1996 as a Quantity Surveyor and after 25 years with the company, he now holds the position of Director of New Business for Balfour Beatty’s building and civil engineering business in Scotland and Ireland. Nick has progressed through the ranks from onsite responsibilities through to operational and general management. For four years Nick held the position of Project Commercial Director to lead and manage the team that delivered the Joint Venture for the New Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
Nick has always had an appetite to learn and progress his knowledge of the industry. He joined Balfour Beatty after graduating with an honours degree in Quantity Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University and then more recently, he completed his Master of Science in Construction Project Management and Master of Business Administration.
With his enthusiasm and hardworking attitude, Nick leads a team with responsibility for ensuring implementation of the business strategy and policy and ensuring delivery of performance targets through the win business community.
Nick is also at the forefront of the industry, with a non-executive board position on the RICS Scotland Board.
He is passionate about giving something back and to understand why he, like many, left Perth at 18 only to return at 30… and what can be done to help keep Perth and the area attractive.
When Nick is not working you will find him on his bike cycling around the countryside with his son, Cathal and their beloved dog, Red.
